Crossing Line Review and book tour!

This book is amazing! My review is below and I hope each of you love it as much as I did!
Go grab your copy today - it's absolutely worth it!

Just before their B-17 bomber crashes in German-occupied Austria, two of the three remaining crewmen manage to parachute out of the aircraft. Captain Charlie Banks and Corporal Samuel Aldridge find shelter in a barn, where they are discovered by a beautiful young Austrian woman. Despite the danger to herself and her family, Marianne Leichtner decides to help the two Americans. Her courage and character soon win Charlie’s heart.
When the Nazis come to investigate the plane crash, Charlie and Sam must escape through enemy territory. Just steps from freedom, they are captured by Italian fascists. Survival takes on a new meaning for the airmen, and Charlie begins to questions everything, including his faith. Only the hope of seeing Marianne again keeps him going over the long months in prison. But if he survives, will she still care for him? And will Charlie learn to trust in the Lord’s promises?

Excerpt from the book:

An hour after nightfall, a scraping noise at the door brought Charlie’s head up. The narrow trapdoor at the bottom opened and a tray slid into the cell. Moments later, he heard a tray slide into Sam’s cell.

With a grunt Charlie got to his feet. He moved to his door and crouched down. in the dim light, he could see the contents of the tray—a thick slice of bread, a narrow hunk of cheese, and a cup of water.

He sat back, crossing his legs beneath him, and pulled the tray over. First, he brought the cup of water
to his parched lips and sipped, letting the moisture seep into the dried cracks of his mouth and throat.

“Grazie,” he whispered hoarsely, hoping whoever had shown them mercy was still there on the other
side of the door. “Sam, food and water.”

Sam groaned, then rolled off the bed and crawled to the tray at his door. He took a drink and sighed.
“Thank you, Lord.”

Charlie took a bite of the soft bread and let the subtle spices mixed with garlic roll across his tongue.
Even more delightful sensations filled his mouth when he tasted the sharp cheese. He ate slowly, making the food last as long as he could. When every last crumb had been picked off his plate, he slid
the tray back to the door. “Grazie, amico mio.” Thank you, my friend.

“Fratelli,” came the reply as the tray slid out the small opening.

Brothers.

I don't like war books - but I love Author Melanie Mason's writing so I took a chance ... and I loved it! I was completely captivated from the start and could not put it down. I may have even snapped at my husband once for interrupting the book - it was THAT GOOD (No worries, I apologized afterward.) The situation, the emotions, the lovely adventure through the difficulties and the small blessings was so beautifully written. I even got emotional several times and the characters went straight to my heart. I honestly enjoyed this book and by the end was completely invested in the final outcome. The writing flowed so well that by the end of the first page I was no longer reading words - I was seeing the book, the world the author built, and the tension of the situation the characters found themselves enduring. And the characters themselves were so endearing. I think Sam may have been one of my favorite, and of course Charlie! You can't not get attached to them. I would easily recommend this book to anyone, not just romance readers or history buffs, but everyone! It was incredible and I loved it & will read it again!

Book Blitz for Cowboys & Calicos

Kirsten Osbourne, USA Today bestselling author, knows how to write romance. Each book is an experience that transplants the reader, indulging them in decadence, intense emotion and sweeping love.
Hailing from the state of Wisconsin, she has lived in Texas for over thirty years as a mother, writer, and wife. Married to the love of her life for more than fifteen years, she knows that true love exists and shares that vision with the world.
She writes contemporary and historical romance as well and also ventures into the realm of paranormal romance. She invites you to join her in her world of fantasy, love, and make believe, no matter the location, where there is always a happily ever after at the end.

Amelia C. Adams is a wife, a mother, and a novelist. She spends her days dreaming up stories and her nights writing them down. Her biggest hero is her husband, and you might just see bits and pieces of him as you read her novels.

She loves all things historical and enjoys learning about days gone by, but she's glad she was born more recently (she won't say how recently or not recently) because the Internet is awesome, and she's glad she doesn't have to wash her clothes by hand in a galvanized tub. She has hit Amazon bestseller status twice, once for A Clean Slate and once for A Clear Hope.

"Five bestselling Western romance authors come together to bring you one collection of all-new stories that will sweep you off your feet!

MAIL ORDER MIDWIFE by Kirsten Osbourne - Widowed midwife Patsy Lawrence spent too much time working and not enough with her young daughter. She knew Emily's childhood would be over before she realized it, so she responded to an ad for a mail-order bride, hoping for a better future for them both.
Dr. Wesley Hardy needed a wife to complete him, so he sent a letter to a mail-order bride agency back East, hoping to find someone compatible. When he received a letter from a widow with a young daughter, he was thrilled with everything but her profession. Could he live with the fact that his new bride was a midwife? Or would they be destined to live without love for the rest of their days?

A BROKEN WING by Amelia C. Adams - Bored beyond all reason while riding a train from Missouri to Colorado, Trinity Scott amuses herself by imagining things about the passengers around her, including the handsome man sitting across the aisle. With his dark curly hair and warm brown eyes, he’s certainly intriguing, and the fact that his arm is in a sling makes him all the more a curiosity.
But when three dangerous men board the train, her desire for adventure and excitement takes a sinister turn, and she must call on her inner strength to do what’s needed to survive.

THE MARSHAL’S REBELLIOUS BRIDE by Cassie Hayes - U.S. Marshal Curtis ‘Griff’ Griffith is on the trail of a wanted man. The last thing he needs is to be distracted by the newest resident of the Dalton Brothers Ranch. So why does he keep returning? It’s certainly not to see the beautiful-but-bullheaded Catherine James.
Catherine has no interest in men or marriage, but there aren’t many choices for single ladies to earn a living on a remote Texas ranch. When she discovers that she holds the key to capturing the outlaw — and collecting some of the reward — she doesn’t hesitate to force Griff’s hand.
Will they kill each other before they find the murderer, or will they risk their damaged hearts for a shot at a new life?

COURTING MISS CARTWRIGHT by Kristin Holt - Courtship, by the book, is supposed to be easy…
As the daughter of an unwed mother, Felicity Percival is accustomed to rejection. Her mother was her only family ... until she is summoned to the reading of her father's will. To learn he was a married preacher with a second daughter horrifies her. The stipulations attached to her inheritance infuriate her. The last thing she expects is the emergence of truths that destroy her life-long beliefs. The last thing she wants is to feel the blush of first love for a man she can't have.
The road to Happily Ever After should not be rocky, especially for level-headed, rule-following Rocky Gideon. His courtship of the minister’s daughter is successful and on track, surviving everything life throws at them … except the appearance of the preacher’s other daughter. Felicity asks too many questions, forces him to evaluate his carefully constructed plan, and somehow steals his heart.
Rocky desperately needs a solid marriage that will go the distance … so why does he yearn for the wrong sister?

WANTED: THE PERFECT HUSBAND by Margery Scott - Sybil Franklin needs a husband—fast! In order to keep her ranch, she must be married within thirteen days. Devin McGregor meets all her requirements and comes highly recommended, but he has no interest in marriage.
Devin McGregor had a ranch once, a fiancée, a future. He made a mistake, and it cost him everything. Now, even though he’d love to own his own land again, he’s afraid to risk failure.
Sybil decides to post an advertisement for the perfect husband. As Devin tries to protect her from being taken advantage of, his feelings for her grow, but his fear of failing her won’t let him accept her proposal.

Interview With Author Kirsten Osbourne

1. Describe yourself in 50 words or less.  I'm a forty-something mom of a crazy twelve year old boy, who loves to write above all else. I like to laugh and make others laugh, so my books all have some element of humor.
2. What do you love most in the world?  My family.
3. What do you fear most? Slowly losing my mind.
4. What is your largest unfulfilled dream, and what are you doing to reach it?  I want to go to England. To get there, I write many many books.
5. What is the hardest thing you've ever done? The hardest thing I've ever done is share my writing with the world. It's also the best thing I've ever done.
6. Now that we've gotten to know each other, tell me a story. It can be long or short. From your childhood or last week. Funny, sad, or somewhere in between. Just make sure it's yours. What's your story?  I went to an aquarium with my son and husband last week. There was a behind the scenes penguin excursion, and my family and I decided to try it, because I've always been a huge penguin fan. The people working at the aquarium warned us over and over not to make any sudden moves or be too loud. I followed every rule to a T. I kept my eye on the only baby penguin in the room, because he kept opening his mouth and lunging toward me. I would just carefully shift my legs out of his way. Finally, my son asked the caretaker some questions, and I was paying rapt attention to her answer, when I felt something chomp down on my right knee. I jumped and heard my husband shouting at the same time. I was bitten by a baby penguin. I don't know anyone else in the world who can say that, so I feel very special to have been the chosen snack of the day.

OPEN-UP! tour and review!

This author is such a joy to get to know, and even more so when you read her book and get to understand more about her. I hope you all enjoy getting to know her as much as I have through this blog tour and by reading her wonderful book!!

This book is written for anyone who has a genuine desire to move forward in their lives but, despite numerous attempts, nothing seems to be working and you keep ending up with the same outcomes year after year. You will learn how to recognize habitual patterns of thought that are sabotaging your life on an unconscious level. Everyone has good intentions for their lives and ultimately wants the best outcomes, but oftentimes we get in our own way by allowing self-destructive thought patterns to impede our good intentions—without actually knowing we are doing so. I know this all too well because this was my life for several years.

This book was written because of my own personal experiences in life, and the experiences of my clients that I serve in my practice. This book gets right down to your core by unveiling the good, the bad, and the ugly about the way you think about yourself and everything that is happening in your life. In essence, this book is entirely about YOU! Most of us try to change ourselves at the level of our thoughts, but true transformation happens at the level at which you vibrate. You will learn how to completely shift your vibrational way of thinking and allow better circumstances to come into your life, whatever they may be. Whether you want to get unstuck in a relationship pattern or a financial pattern that keeps coming up, this book serves as a guide that will explore the moments when you get into trouble, and offers tools for learning to stay with your uneasiness, and offers concrete steps to get unstuck so you can finally move forward in life.

You will learn the O.P.E.N.U.P. steps: Observation, Permission, Experience, Not Identifying, Understanding, and Practice. These steps will serve as your doorway into revealing the very thing that is keeping you stuck. Once you discover those “hidden” truths about yourself, your entire state of being will be altered, and you will no longer resist all the good that life has in store for you.

I was blown away by how simple and straightforward this book it. It talks about opening up, letting go, learning to overcome, and more ... All in a way that makes sense and doesn't seem overwhelming. The steps are easy and I'm excited to put them into practice for myself and in my life. I have a feeling this book will stay close by me for reference for the next while as I apply the techniques and learn more about myself. Thank you T.G. Harris for sharing this with us!
I have and will continue to recommend this book to others.

A Carolina Christmas Anthology Book Review

I adore Christmas and everything about it! I love the snow, the cold, the festivities and decorations and, of course, the Christmas Movies and Christmas Books!!

I was so excited when I got the opportunity to be part of this tour and I was so happy to read the book and review it. See my review below and enjoy!!

The Pamlico Writers Group is thrilled to announce the upcoming release of our 2016 anthology of short stories and poems written by our members with a section of award winning prose and poetry from our 2015 and 2016 competition winners.
A Carolina Christmas isn’t your traditional holiday feast of tinsel and sugar plums. While there is still a smattering of stars sprinkled through the pages and a little glitter and artificial snow lighting up a few plastic Santas, these stories are filled with more than ornaments and figgy pudding. From broken hearts to hopeful reunions, holiday anxiety to joyful tidings, the truest gift of Christmas is still found to be family, faith and friendship. But these stories are not fairy tales and every holiday is not Peace on Earth.
“Readers are in for a holiday treat with the 2016 Pamlico Writers Anthology with its Christmas theme.” ~Marni Graff, award-winning author of The Nora Tierney English Mysteries and The Trudy Genova Manhattan Mysteries
“A Carolina Christmas establishes itself as a holiday classic, a must read. The journey isn’t your typical holiday adventure.” ~Angela Beach Silverthorne, author of Depression Cookies, two-time silver medalist in Women’s Fiction and Chick Lit for Readers’ Favorite and Cries of Innocence, a five-star Contemporary Christian Fiction.

I honestly loved this book, and not just because it's about Christmas things (which I love). The stories were sweet and touching, the poems made me smile, and the whole feel of the book was incredible. It was over too quickly! It is a quick, enjoyable, read and when it was over I wanted more. The authors who put this together are very talented and each has his/her own writing style which shows throughout the book, but it wasn't hard to get into any of them. I would definitely recommend this book as a great winter or Christmas read (or, if you are like me, a read for any time of the year because I'm one of those people who enjoys Christmas music in July).

It is absolutely worth picking up and enjoying, reading aloud or just to yourself, and spreading the joy of Christmas and the talent of this amazing group. Thank you for letting me read your work. I'll be recommending this book to anyone and everyone!
